Small Small Rainbows

What have you been up to? We've been working on a podcast which is available now! Designed for children aged 4 - 12, we've recorded 10 very short stories for people with very big imaginations.

There are stories about pirate hamsters, pebbles from outer space, traffic lights, spy donkeys, jaggy nettles and rainy days.

You can hear these fab little stories for FREE here. Let us know what you think!

Written by Siân Bevan

Music and sound design by Nik Paget-Tomlinson and Niroshini Thambar.

Directed by Heather Fulton

Performed by Hazel Darwin-Clements, Mamoru Iriguchi and Saskia Ashdown

Produced by Frozen Charlotte Theatre Company and Hazel Darwin-Clements with support from the Edinburgh International Children's Festival.

Small Small Rainbows was originally commissioned by Imaginate Ideas Fund.

If you want to experience some Small Small Rainbows stories in person we'd love for you to join us at The Edinburgh International Children's Festival this month at the Royal Botanic Garden's Edinburgh. We'll be there on:

Woodland Creatures

We are delighted to announce that we will be creating a new show this autumn for children and families. Woodland Creatures will be popping up in woodlands throughout Moray, Highland and Aberdeenshire in September and October 2021.

Venture into the woods to discover a fun mixture of live music, puppetry and the spectacularly costumed Woodland Creatures. Inviting audiences to watch 'baby birds' hatch and play games of peek-a-boo from behind the trees with an extremely shy squirrel. A relaxing and gentle show bringing children, families and performers together as well as building a connection with the beautiful, natural environment around them.

Tickets are FREE and will be available to book from June 2021.

Our super-furry-animal production team includes: Moray-based puppeteer & circus performer Rachael Macintyre; actor/musician and Frozen Charlotte associate artist David Rankine, performers from Moray’s Out Of The Darkness Theatre Company who support artists with additional support needs; designer Kate Mckay and Aberdeen producer Cameron Mowat.

The production is produced in partnership with: Dance North's 'Rise' Festival, Eden Court, North East Arts Touring (NEAT) and Out Of The Darkness Theatre Company (OOTD). Funded by Creative Scotland's Touring Fund.

More detail to follow soon!

Do you want to be a part of Woodland Creatures?!

We are looking for a final performer to join the team so are really interested to hear from actor-musical performers. Ideally they should be based in the North or NE and have a passion for performing. Click here for more info on the job.
