Pink

Pink may appear to be girly, frilly and sickly sweet but enter this bubblegum world with care – these girly girls may not be so sugar and spice and all things nice…

Devised with a group of young women the starting point for Pink was our fascination (ok, slight obsession) with all things embarrassing.

Soon we had the image of a girl in a box. As we got deeper into exploring young women’s relationships with each other, the strong bonds they form and the power they can yield over others – for good or for evil – we discovered why the girl might be reluctant to leave the box.

Pink was commissioned by young people for mFEST, a festival run by young people for young people at Macrobert Arts Centre in Summer 2010.
